A Day In The Life of a Data Scientist

After 1 year and 2 months of making YouTube videos, I finally got the courage to make a vlog. What better way to get started than by doing a day in the life of a data scientist. The goal of my channel is to demystify data science and the work of data scientists. There seems to be a lot of confusion around what we really do.

In this video, I show a pretty realistic day in my life. And no, I'm not training AI models all day long. This is the rough breakdown of my day as you see in the video.

8:30am - Wake up

8:30-9:15am - Get ready for work

9:15-9:30am - Make coffee

9:30-11:30am - Deploy/test new data pipelines + Code Review

11:30-12pm - Standup

12-12:15pm - Pizza Lunch!

12:15-2 - Compare model performance between 2 similar datasets

2-3pm - Team Meeting

3-3:15pm - Code Changes

3:15-4:15pm - Tech talk by colleague

4:15-4:30pm - Afternoon Walk

4:30-5:30pm - Make data models for new additions to data pipeline

5:30-6:30pm - Virtual Drinks with Colleague

6:30-7:15 - Evening Run

7:15-8:30pm - Make and eat more pizza

8:30-10:30pm - Youtube Planning and editing

10:30-11pm - Talk to Parents

11pm - Bedtime
